How Emily Wiggles Out of Her Lie

Emily says that the voting for the contest to redesgn the Room of Horrors closed on Friday night with entry number 1 way in the lead. She sent Nicole the $25 gift card for that design.

However, she wrote in the contest post that she didn't want this to be a popularity contest, but that is what it quickly became when the Braincells blog (she calls it the "anti-me" site, LOL) encouraged people to vote for #1. Oddly enought though, she says, her readers really liked #3. She asks "Why is it fair for people who don't like me to got to decide the fate of my children's room when I was giving the choice over to my readers, who went for entry #3?"

There were 63 comments, and 19 of those comments were for entry #3, and only 13 were for #1. She doesn't say how many comments she rejected though.

The other comments were a mix of support for other entries and general suggestions.

She says there was a recurring suggestion to combine 1 and 3, so that is what she is doing. When has she ever taken any suggestions before?

She says she is still trying to figure out the spacing of the four-tier stack 'em up bunk beds, and she is thinking of actually making it three tiered with a trundle. We all know what Emily considers a trundle don't we?

She also says that since it is unclear who would have actually won the contest without interference from our little Blog here, she sent a $5 gift card to the submitter of #3. Emily is a generous one isn't she?

Mattresses, Mattresses, Mattresses

She says that as some of her readers that keep up with the gossip forums know, she received a mattress from a reader. She says sending something for her boys was a kind gesture, but she is building the bunks to different dimensions. They plan to keep Thomas in their filthy bed until he is ready to join the stackable children in the big boy bed. Thus, she says she is selling the mattress and will put the money towards the boys' room.

Never once does she say thanks.

The entries were...

Entry #1 - Nicole H

Entry #2 - Christena

Entry #3 - Andrea M

Entry #4 - Emily (Funder Woman ~Thanks for that phrase to an Anon here!) The entry that only got 11 votes, and she can't say it was because we knew who it was, because I think most of us thought that heres was number three. SHe was really pushing for #3.

Entry #5 - Patty's husband

She plans on doing an idea roundup with the rest of the submissions that didn't make the final five cut. She may even turn it into a short series! Also she says that if those who submitted have a blog, to email her for some "linky-love" so when she showcases those ideas she can send people to their blog so they can see some other neato thoughts and ideas.

Edited to add, her first four commenters are saying they voted for #1 and are disappointed in how she ran the contest.

Emily replies with...

I have no doubt that there were genuine readers who voted for #1 because they liked the design or the beds, but I am not sure it would have won if it hadn't been for interference. If every single person who voted for #1 told me their reasons, that wouldn't change the fact that the contest was tampered with.

This should be an interesting day for the comments. Unfortunately it looks like Em disable the comment feed. Guess it impacted her hits.

  1. Did I miss the FJ or under1000 vote for #1 campaign? Damn.

What happened to trying to get Thomas out of her bed and into the crib/packnplay asap? Is she not concerned about Thomas sleeping on a mattress since he's under 6 months and therefore most vulnerable to sids? Or has she stopped worrying about toxic mattress gases and moved on to something else? For answers to these and other questions, stay tuned to FundySoap.

  2. Why doesn't it surprise me that #4 has a shelf with crap on it that could fall on the sleeping children??

    ReplyDelete
  3. What an ass. She can't even run a contest without acting like a baby. She needs to grow up big time. I only remember a few people saying #1 was the safest option. There was no campaign. How dare people want to vote for the safest option for your children Emily!!! Safety has ruined the whole thing! Cry me a river.

    ReplyDelete
  4. What she misses in her logic is that people may not like her, but they at the very least like her children and wish nothing but kindness and joyful childhoods.

If people wanted to mess with her head without concern they would have voted for #4 which apparently had them sleeping on the floor. Option #1 called for a real bunkbed, with room for all their toys. How horrid of people. I mean how dare anyone support and idea that gave the kids their own sleeping space. You horrid, horrid women.

Oh and just because you let through comments to support #3 doesn't mean that you didn't leave out dozens of comments that supported #1. I don't believe you Emily, you are a liar.

    ReplyDelete
  5. She is serious? Really?! She could have supplied some of the other suggestions that the ones she submitted.

She sounds like a teen who is rebelling... It makes a little sad for her but it is her fault now. She is an adult and it is her responsibility to go to THERAPY!

I don't give a shit how she decides to redecorate her boys' room. She is oging to do whatever she wants anyway. The "contest" was merely for extra traffic.

Oh, and why delete the link to the comment feeds?

    ReplyDelete
  6. And Emily is a mother? I swear, there should be some sort of responsibility and maturity test before one can become a parent.

    Not cool.

But, thanks to Emily's immaturity, stubbornness, and refusal to show graciousness by thanking Gizmola for the kind gift, I'm making another donation to Planned Parenthood. This is my 3rd donation of $10, based on Emily's words, which will again be matched by my company dollar-for-dollar. It's my way of combating her evilness. And stupidity.

  7. The reason I liked #1 is that it seemed to incorporate all the crap she wants to keep and works for her family now and in the future. Getting a real bunkbed would be much simpler and likely safer than building them in the confines of their apartment with limited tools.

If Em really wanted, she could have an extra "trundle" mattress under a real bunk bed too. Although I feel the need to point out that the room is't wide enough to have 2 twin beds side by side. A twin plus crib mattress would probably work.

  8. I think that her crazy brain is working overtime. Her crazy notion that we organized a camipaign regarding the design of the "Bedroom of Death" is just batshit crazy. She really needs to get a life and forgot about us. I don't think she understands that she is the one that started this whole thing, the things that come out of her crazy brain are too good not to snark about.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Is there a link to wherever I can read the Gizmola/Emily email exchange?

    ReplyDelete
  10. I can not believe that she still did not properly thank Giz for the mattress. What an ingrate! I guess we should be happy that she was thanked for the friggin box. I don't even have the energy to try to figure out why she is selling a brand new crib mattress when she can make use of it! I guess Thomas and Bobby can sleep on the old coma inducing mattress. Yep, makes perfect sense! I just love Emily's logic....

    ReplyDelete
  11. I didn't vote for #1. Want to know why? Because it doesn't make an effing difference how many people (400+) vote for something, she doesn't care.

    She's selfish.

I hope she does read this blog, and I hope she sees these comments. I also hope she seriously starts rethinking being a preachers wife because she's not cut out for it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hey, Giz, are you sending her empty boxes? She thanked you ONLY for the mattress box, send her more boxes. Shoot, maybe she could fashion a new home out of them.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wow. I post here and at FJ, I never once saw anyone saying to vote for choice #1. I voted for it because it seemed like the least expensive and most logical option for her, I thought she'd actually be able to obtain a bed like that (seemed like the Ikea kids loft bed) easily on craigslist.

Does she not realize that she is sending droves of people over here? I hope you enjoy losing readers, Emily. Smart move there.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Of course she turned off comments, she cannot monitor them from church. She is certifiable.

    ReplyDelete
  15. my guess is she took a hit with a major drop in clicks when she had her comments hooked up for a feed link. she lost a good chunk of change, since many would rather be here and not give her site a click to read the comments. Clicks = $; Em may be experiencing quite the exodus of fans. Her only way to make some kind of cash is for folks to keep clicking to see the comments. If she loses enough $, she may disable the site feed as well. wouldn't surprise me.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm not able to access her blog at all. Is it just me?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Is it just me or is her blog not up? Blogger says it can't be found.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Did Emily delete her blog? I just went to the link and it's says the blog cannot be found.

    ReplyDelete
  19. As far as the campaign to get people to vote for #1, I think she is reaching a bit. I did encourage people to vote for an entry that allowed her children a bed off the floor.

    Here is what I said...

She has posted the pictures of the suggestions. I am encouraging you to go and vote in the poll for one of the suggestions that actually allows for the boys to have a bed, looks like entry number one actaully allows for a bed off the floor. I'm sure they still won't be allowed a matress, but at least it's off the floor. This entry also gives Brad the Wonder Ecoli a prominent place watching over the boys.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Her blog isnt coming up for me either. ??

    ReplyDelete
  21. I just went to see and it does appear to be deleted. She did that once before though when the water got hot, and then said someone had hacked her account. She'll put it back up, just wait. Emily cannot live without the attention.

How much do you want to bet that she says someone hacked her? She'll say that so that her Fundy supporters will feel sorry for her.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I got the blog not found, as well. It would be really in the boys' best interest if their mother would stay off the web.

    ReplyDelete
  23. can i say how bummed i am that miss em decided that she couldn't take the heat, just when it was getting good and my kids went down for a nap. now what the heck am I going to do for the next two hours??? watch Olympic cross country skiing (insert sarcasm and gagging noises:))

    ReplyDelete
  24. a few factors I'm pondering, not that it really makes a difference: a)the lightbulb about personal safety went on cuz she got hatemail; b)DHS has been viewing her blog and somehow made a call and got involved; c)she figured the income wasn't worth the headache (she incurred it herself, I know) - she did snap. Be interesting to see if Dan keeps his blog. Probably will...? Also, Under1000, what other time did Emily do this? Can you specify?

    ReplyDelete
  25. "so what if you voted for #1, may be if you had sent an explanation of WHY you voted, I'd count it.."

    Umm.. ok.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It is her way of creating drama. She will be back.

    ReplyDelete
  27. ugh. i voted for the room i liked best. maybe it was #1, can't remember.

i am pissed that she is selling the gifted mattress. i've always given her the benefit of the doubt, except for the boys room. and i can not believe that she has NO USE for a NICE mattress regardless of the size. the room redo that she plans to do will take time. she intends on having a dozen kids...that mattress would get used. but to be so greedy to sell it like that and blog it? too much.

her blog is gone now it looks like. which is fine. i was only going to go there to hit unfollow. i can delete from my reader though.

curious as to why she closed up shop now? i can think of a few reasons.

    ReplyDelete

  34. reading "In Loving Submission", it truly feels as though i'm reading a novel of a time and place so far from my own life.

you sure have a gift with words, and all the more impressive is that you are writing based on the things you have read about from fundies and not what you have experienced! i'm only a few entries in, but it is so well written that the commenters have no clue that it's not a true story!

you have many novels in your future!!!

  35. She can't disable comments on her blog all together, she'll lose BlogHer that way. It's one of their conditions.

I bet she was "hacked" again by one of her "bullies".

    ReplyDelete
  36. She can't handle the stress from the comments, so she disabled the blog temporarily until things blow over. She's such a douche.

    ReplyDelete
  37. i really want to know how she got blogher ads so fast?

i had been accepted on my earliest blog but quit the blog all together before i ever had a chance to put up ads. now i've been blogging for awhile and have been waiting and waiting to be accepted.

i applied before emily started blogging, kept checking, even when she was accepted and still they had the message that they were not accepting new blogs at the time. so how the hell did she manage to get them?

and another blog i read has THREE blogher ads. how does THAT happen.

i have lost respect for blogher, if i'm ever approved i don't know that i'll accept. at this point my blog is ad free. money making is not the reason i am blogging. just felt that if i was already doing it and could make extra money then great. if not, oh well.

but it still ticks me off that emily some how bypassed the system and i'm so curious as to how she did it. anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Maybe I'm just stating the obvious here but I think that Emily never realized how her blog could affect Dna's kuhreer. It seems like it's only been talked about lately how all of this blogging and internet presence of hers is going to be online forever for Dna's future kongregashun (scary thought) to find. How sad to think that she's ruined their plan before it even got off the ground. I love that it's all her doing though and she can't blame anyone else! At least Dna already has his foot in the door at Walmart. Maybe he can work his way up to manager over there and make some decent money.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anon, when you are in the Blogher network, you can add as many ads to your blog as you want. You have to have your primary above the page fold, but, then you can add them to the end of each post, the footer of the blog, etc.

I'm confused... Her blog has only been up since last year, right? So, why does Alexa show it as being active since 2000?

The fact that she pulled her blog makes me wonder if she's going to keep posting occasionally like she does over at Frugal Hacks?

I have a feeling that she WILL be back with a new attitude. I have this gut feeling that someone had a talk with her about her online presence and how her attitude could be jeopardizing any future career in ministry that Dan might have.

I mean seriously, what kind of pastor's wife says things like "...getting up my butt..." like she did in one of her emails to Gizmola?

She has a poor attitude and one of the most selfish, arrogant and narcissistic spirits I've ever seen. I'm genuinely surprised that Chicken Liver over at Poop on Peeps hasn't shredded her yet!

Emily, I know you read this...grow up. Apply for social aid and get your family on a decent diet and not one that you concocted after overdosing on lacto-fermented eggs! Your children deserve more than you're willing to provide! Get over yourself already.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh by the way Emily, you might have deleted your blog, but it's still out there, cached forever and ever in the elephantine memory of the internet. I can pull up page after page of your cached blog and your rude, condescending comments. Makes me wonder what your boys are going to think of you when they grow up and can dig this stuff up for themselves!

    ReplyDelete
  42. She pulled this stunt before, right? Didn't she say something about her blog being hacked and someone deleted it? She'll be back. After all, Em is in it for the money.

Blogher accepts blogs even when they're not accepting. Depends on the amount of traffic that particular blog gets.

    ReplyDelete
  43. just another blogger--
I don't think anyone talked to her about it because she has no contact with the outside world besides the internet. Even her internet "friends" are only friends until they try to give her some useful advice. Then they're just part of Gizmola's underground army. She has no real life friends, she never even met anyone at Dna's skool till just recently at the retreat, she doesn't go to church, and I'm sure that her parents don't give a care about her internet shenanigans much less their affect on his ministry.
That's why I think that she honestly just realized all this from reading here and other places. Or from reading her comments that she doesn't post. Maybe after reading it for the 100th time it finally sank in.

    Anonymous at 4:04PM...

    You could be right.

I thought she did go to church? Or were you just being facetious?

Anyhow, if she does pop back up, after reading all of the comments here, surely she'll have to get more creative with the lie she tells because if she says she was hacked, everyone out here will have already called a spade a spade.

I never knew that she took her blog down before and then came back. I've only been reading her since October, maybe.

Buzzalot...would have to say I agree with you there. I don't believe there is a Nicole H., either. I think Emily is far too stingy and miserly to send anyone anything other than a headache and pissy email!

  46. Chicken Liver won't be ripping her a new one anytime soon, because her site is down as of today, too. And The Art of the Takedown has gone private. Man, where am I going to get my blog snark fix? Oh, right... here. :)

    Anon 4:14PM

Yeah I just noticed that Chicken Liver was down too. I didn't much care for her but was shocked that she never lit into our dear Em. Of course, she's been dealing with a few legal actions and that could have been the impetus for her pulling PoP and not any sort of ill family member. I think if that were in fact the case, there would have been no reason to pull down the entire site.

From what I understand from Lilith herself from AotTD, she's just on haitus until the "lazies" are over and she feels like posting again.

  48. Dan's twitter:

era of the blog is over! libertation is on

    free dna!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I googled libertation: Emily simply moved her data (giving her control) and will pop up again (most likely) to another place. It gives blog authors alot of control (so the page says). Google libertation adn hit the first site you see. Em is not GONE. Not by a long shot.

    ReplyDelete
  50. If Emily is smart, she'll come back and keep making that money.

$1500+ a month just for putting random crazy shiit on a blog? Easiest job ever! She could even ignore all of the comments and make bank.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I've been following this douchebag since her blog was a week old.

I'm betting it's one of these things:

1.) She stated some time ago that her blog was hacked. It was down for quite a few hours. So, maybe it was hacked again.

2.) It was removed by blogger. Blogger has rules, one of those stating:

*Illegal activities: Don't use Blogger to engage in illegal activities or to promote dangerous and illegal activities. For example, don't author a blog encouraging people to drink and drive. Otherwise, we may delete your content. Also, in serious cases such as those involving the abuse of children, we may report you to the appropriate authorities.*

So it appears that blogger will engage themselves in cases where they find child abuse.

3.) Someone has convinced Emily to remove the blog. Someone once posted her pastor's information, and said they sent the link to him. Is it possible someone from their church, or perhaps Dan's school has found the blog? I used to be very active in church and missions in my younger days and I know that NO CHRISTIAN I knew would stand by and watch what Emily does.

4.) She can't take the heat anymore, or she's going to try to convince everyone it was hacked, but she really took it down because the backlash of the today's post.

    ReplyDelete
  52. hmm, I think something happened or someone at church said something to them today. I was Dan's facebook friend and could follow his tweets, but he blocked me from both today...and I have never commented negatively.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Someone should really email blogher and ask them if their advertisers are okay with a blog like this.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm not 100% sure that she doesn't go to church. I just have this strong suspicion that she is agoraphobic. She never talks about going to church, and this has been pointed out somewhere before and she never addressed it. Not that she needs to defend herself, but occasionally she has felt compelled to pop up and do that. Plus, if she went to church wouldn't she know some of Dna's klassmates before the retreat? I'm just saying. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry. I only read her junk halfway anyway before falling asleep so maybe I missed something.

Going with the whole agoraphobic thing, I just thought, maybe that is her whole idea with having so many kids. If you have too many to fit in a car, presto, you'll always have an excuse to never leave the house again! I don't even think she goes grocery shopping, because Dna probably just picks up what she needs after work at Walmart.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I think they go to church--dna was complaining a while back that the pastor should have cancelled services because of the weather

    ReplyDelete
  56. Dan just posted on facebook: "The blog is over. Let the liberation begin!"

If so, it's been a good run, and I have had lots of laughs here. I *still worry about those boys, though. Hopefully CPS was involved.

Now I can claim back about an hour or so of my day! Woo!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Did Dan really say that on his Twitter?! Dude. Way to grow a pair!!!

I seem to remember Emily breaking down their monthly expenses one time, and never did she say that they tithed. Hmm. Makes you wonder if they do go to church, and just how religious they are.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm sorta glad she's gone offline because I've been following Emily's train to Crazyville so much lately, that I've started neglecting my own kids to read how she was neglecting hers!

She'll be back soon. She's actually pretty smart to pull the blog right at the height of drama to keep us all anxiously awaiting an update. And as much as I am loathe to say it, I really am anxious--because as long as she's still posting we know the kids are alright, at least.

I bet it is some elaborate plan to be dramatic. It also could have been a school project (which would have been brilliant) and she got her "A".

Honestly, I can't imagine all of it is even 75% true.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Give me a break - if DNA spelled liberation right it must have been Emily updating it. She'll act like DNA told her to pull it or something until things "calmed down" or that it was hacked.

  73. The simplest explanation would be that some freak showed up at her doorstep and it is used in an investigation of some sort.

Or that she got pissed off. Whatever. I can totally see someone knocking on her door with all of the identifying info she put out there.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Wow, I've never read the blog in question but somehow found this one....Don't you have anything better to do but pick on someone else?

Poor you, if her blog is gone, yours will fizzle out as well.....

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'm so sorry. I have a confession to make... I know what happened to the blog.

It was my fault and believe me when I say it was an accident (or maybe it was Gods will) and I'd never ever want to do this but it just gets so lonely in that flat.

So SO lonely. They only came to see me once a week, friday is wonderwash and poop day (to conserve water you understand) so me and Therese got talking, and well you know how I love me some mould spores... one thing led to another, and we may have done something dirty... don't worry though, we had Ronald the Roaster confirm our love before hand... and this may have led to the offgassing of some toxix fumes on the matress GOD provided to us.

Unfortunately only Dna survived the gas explosion, Emily was hanging on but eventually sufocated under the weight of her own ego. Dna was always kind to me, he even once called me his only friend, so now he is taking me, Therese and our lacto-fermented gas spores on the lamb.

Don't worry though, I'm pretty certain this is Gods plan for us.

    xoxo

  76. C,

You're mighty quick to leap to judgment without being fully informed. It just gets kind of hard to sit back and read about a mother who is quite possibly jeopardizing her childrens' health by following extremely questionable nutritional practices, who would rather her children sleep on pee-soaked piles of blankets rather than the organic mattress that the owner of this blog sent to her, and whose child spent two days in a coma after signs of illness were completely ignored for days prior.

But hey, what do we know? WE only actually did read the blog in question.

Somehow, I think we'll all survive just fine if it's gone forever. It's Emily's children we'll worry about.

  77. Couldn't she just export her blog and re-import it into a new, unknown blog? You can do that with Wordpress, then delete the original without losing your shit. I'd guess she's done that and made the new one private, just so she doesn't lose all of her data.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Hi.

I came over here because, what the hell, Emily already accused me of coming over here and inciting riot.

Is fighting with me over "messy" cloth shelves what pushed her last button?

    ReplyDelete
  79. C, so I suppose you support child abuse? That's exactly what the "blogger" who writes the "blog in question" was doing to her children. Making them sleep on pissed soaked bare mattresses under a crib with plans to "freebirth" (unassisted homebirth) her future children, with the intention of making them all sleep on top of each other, like a fucking puppy mill. All while she feeds them a homemade water and flour concoction she calls pasta and dollar store ground beef.

If you want to support child abuse, then feel free to take your ass elsewhere.

  80. It doesn't matter if she deleted the blog to try to protect her imagine and Dan's all the info is saved in other places and I know of several people that are planning on forwarding it to Dan's teachers and the head of the school.

  81. Actually, I don't own this blog - Under1000 does. I'm just a contributor.

I think she couldn't take the negative comments, etc. anymore. She'll probably start a new blog though I'm really surprised she'd give up anything that was making any amount of money as money seems to be the driving force in her life - both making it and keeping it, even at the expense of her children.

    ReplyDelete
  82. She is making $1000 of the blog each month - she WILL be back.

Also, on a side note, I voted for #5 and left a comment early this morning but she didn't allow it through. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Can't you undelete blogs? BlogHer maintains you have to have your blog running for at least 3 months - so there is no way she is going to start a new one. She'll either undelete hers, or use the belly button one.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Yes, you can undelete a blog. The last time Emily deleted her blog when she said she was hacked, she said that it was easy to undelete it.

I have a felling that she will be back. I do hope everything is okay at their home and that she doesn't take her frustrations out on her family. The blog allowed Em to be a big fish in a little pond, and she enjoyed the power, I'm sure that having that taken away for whatever reason has probably enraged her.

I'm too tired to scroll up, but to whatever anon said this blog will probably dry up with Emily gone, you're probably right. Good thing we weren't in it for the money huh? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hi Lori! Welcome! Please stay- we don't bite! Most of us are genuinely concerned about Emily and her family, but since she doesn't listen to anyone's suggestions, we have to find someplace to vent our frustrations.

I think that her "fight" with you was a catalyst. There was a huge backlash when she responded to you so rudely, and it seemed like many of her followers were surprised and taken aback by it.

And then there was the whole mattress debacle. (Debacle on Emily's part- Giz was awesome for sending it!)

    ReplyDelete
  86. If you read the comments on Dan's movie review on his blog and note the time stamps, it appears some of his readers told him about the nasty comments Emily was saying in the various comment sections.

Sat night-some one told him about Lori(said she made a nasty comment to someone with a simple suggestion) Then someone else gave him a link to her AFM post and she described how being called lazy by Emily for using AFM made her feel. These posts continued onto Sunday AM.

Soon after the last comment, Emily's blog was down.

Wonder if he told her to take it down and for once in her life she was actually a submissive wife.
the last post was this morning. And shortly after that, Emily's blog was gone.

    ReplyDelete
  87. ugh...the last line was supposed to read...the last comment on his blog was this morning....I meant to correct/clarify that but forgot to before hitting post.

    ReplyDelete
  88. So I was offline all day and I'm, hoping someone can give me the Cliff's Notes versions of what happened? I haven't been visiting Emily's blog and the comments were hard to follow on the feed so I've just been reading here. What happened with her comments?

    ReplyDelete
  89. After spending a good part of the weekend having contractions, I spent part of the day resting and reading up on this site, and Dan's blog.

I'm a little disturbed that Dan allows the comments, or, as he calls them, "coments" to remain on his blog that are bashing his wife. It's perplexing. If he respected her, he wouldn't let others point out her flaws. Which, makes me wonder if their marriage is as "solid" as she claimed. If he truly believed in her vision of running a household, he would have stood up for her.

I feel for Dan, I really do. I'm not making fun of him... But, I wonder how Emily can say that he's the most intelligent man she has ever met. I mean... Using Star Trek to justify Christian exclusivism? Huh?

It suddenly makes sense to me why Dan kept all those books on those shelves. I know an older man who fills his home with books and periodicals. But... He can't read. He dropped out of school in 2nd/3rd grade (during the depression). By having books and literature around, he feels like people perceive him as an intellectual. I think Dan feels the same way.

Re Dan and writing/reading: "It rarely takes more than a page to recognize that you're in the presence of someone who can write, but it only takes a sentence to know you're dealing with someone who can't. (By the way, here's a simple way to find out if you're a writer. If you disagree with that statement, you're not a writer. Because, you see, writers are also readers.)" - Josh Olson

    ReplyDelete
  92. Also, Emily is about as submissive as *I* am. (Which is to say, not very.) If Fundies used the language of BDSM-ers, I'd say that girl is topping from the bottom all the freaking time.

    ReplyDelete
  93. It's funny how people can read the same thing and come to different conclusions, like, Emily's blog. I read it and see a young woman struggling to make due with very little, but trying to do the best she can. I look at the pictures of her little boys and I see adorable, healthy children. They don't look emaciated and deathly thin. Yes, her son got sick, but strange, unexplained sicknesses hit kids every day!?

Listen, I grew up dirt ass poor and a lot of times I didn't have a mattress to sleep on, much less a pissed-covered one. But you know what the worst part of being poor was? People like most of the commenters I've read here tonight. It's these same kind of folks who say it's for the kids, but in reality it not for the kids. It's for the black hole in that "good" person's heart that feeds on feeling mug and superior, so then they could say "if wasn't for me those poor children would (insert calamity here)"

As far as the gift of the mattress goes... if I were Emily I would have burned the damn thing. Maybe Emily sensed, as I do, that Gizmola has some sick agenda. From the first paragraph I read tonight, I see a woman who is warped and unhappy and has fixated on someone's else. And it seems there's a lot of wanttobe Gizmolas here, too.

Emily may have a lot of faults. She may be immature and she definately has her own ideas (and by the way, at-home birth is not a new idea). But she's human and she's trying and I for one like reading her.

I would suggest that those of you who enjoy bashing her, spend a little time asking yourself why you get off doing that. After all, if you don't like what the girl says, then don't go to her site. And please, don't say it's for the kids. That's a bunch of BS!

    ReplyDelete
  94. With all due respect, you are completely full of shit.
Emily deserves every damn snipe she gets. She is a selfish, smug little bitch.
She feeds her kids rotten damn food, does not wash their clothes, allows them to sleep on urine covered mattresses.
A poor woman struggling? OH PLEASE!
I am poor. My family lives on very little, however, my kids eat wonderful food, have spotless clothes etc.
As a good friend told me, there is no shame in being poor, their is only shame in having poor ways.
Emily has poor ways. She allowed her child to fall into a COMA!!!!!!! before she took him to the Dr. for goodness sakes. How can you possibly defend any of her actions?

    ReplyDelete
  95. PS .. the fact someone on the net sent her a mattress for goodness sakes speaks volumes of the kind of person, parent she is. I think it was a kind gesture..G was attempting to make those boys lives a bit more comfortable.

  96. If I were using my blog to talk up a lifestyle that was dangerous for my children, I hope that someone would call me out on it. I'm not perfect. I don't want my kids to suffer for my shortcomings.

I live in a tiny house with my husband, two children, and one large dog. My house is far from spotless but it has never been a hazard for my children. My children have access to a clean living space, healthy food, safe toys, and seperate sleeping areas. Any mother unwilling to provide those basics is putting her children in danger. I don't say unable because Emily IS able to give these things to her children- she CHOOSES not to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I don't really get why there is site for this? Seriously, I am wondering if any of you haters have a life outside of picking on others. It is really sick. I am only 20 and I think all of this is really high school. I just found this today and I was shocked. I mean my 12 year sister wouldn't do anything this stupid. I am not here to judge you though, Only God can do that. I was number 3 btw.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Anon 1:30, we aren't haters. We are for the most part people who see a danger and we call people on it. So you're 20, so's my daughter and when she saw EK's blog she said my God, how can anyone live like that?

Emily willingly put her life online and with that comes scrutiny. Can't take the heat, get out of the f*(*&g fire.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Poor Poor Emily she put her life online and people called her out on all of her bullshit and putting her children lives at risk. She has put a serious amount of info out on the internet and now is paying for it. What did she expect? If she wanted to have a blog then she should of made it private.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Yeah, so did she close her blog after sending out a message for all her "cronies" to come and support her over here?

People here have tried being civil, and giving constructive criticism to her but she chose to respond like a snippy bitch instead of gracefully taking comments. If she didn't want criticism, she should not have started a damn blog to begin with! So all you people who are quick to name call, think of that for a second. The people here who are now pissed at her, have gotten snotty replies and a holier than thou attitude, and have every right to be ticked.

As for not caring about her children? I think not. When you see something bad going on, the worse thing is to do NOTHING. They dropped kind comments about how dangerous their room is, and she replied with snotty remarks when she's the one who put it out to be seen by all to begin with.

She'll be back, mark my words. Money loving, snotty know-it-all people like Emily are too won over by the mighty dollar and won't pass up a chance at income.

Frugal my ass - she's spoiled and selfish and anybody that can't see otherwise has their head straight up Emily's butt along with hers.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I assure you that I didn't have a sick agenda. Yes, I made fun of her and mocked her but I sent the mattress for one reason: I couldn't sit back and let her leave her children sleeping on a pile of mattresses. End of story. I am interested in how my sending a mattress could be part of some sick agenda. What would I gain by doing that?

    ReplyDelete
  102. I don't understand how people can support her. She's gross. Her food is gross. I've never tasted it, thank god. If I had I would be in a coma.

    Is that wrong?

  103. Look: when I was a young mom, I had 'irish twins' iykwim. Wedding night conception (yeah, I was really dumb about ovulation then). My home was disgusting! If I wasn't nauseas, from like the 2nd month of marriage, I was freakin' sore from giving birth. Hubs worked nights...I drowned my sorrows in soap operas and magazines, with a little Harlequin Romance books thrown in to know what good sex might be like! LOL. 25 years later...if blogging, personal pc's were in our home: I would NEVER show my crappy mess. Because somewhere in her head, Emily has to know she has a hovel of sorts. Somewhere...in...that...brain...right? I have old pics from when she started that show one or both boys dirty. One is sucking his thumb asleep and the other is filthy eating at the table. My kids looked like that, too. But: NO PICS were taken!!! When did I snap out of my slovenlyness (we had a 2 bedroom and when I got pregnant with last baby #3, we MOVED to a larger apartment)? When oldest started kindegarten!! When middle followed the year after, my home and sex life got way better! Those 7 years I hardly have pics taken in our home. Em has tons. Why?????? Ignorance, I guess. I think it's possible the childhood backgrounds with homes cluttered. I know this is true for my husband. He was poor, like Dan. If I had not held my ground, he would be a hoarder today. He still has too much crap. But our home is welcoming and not cluttered. Took alot of arguments and tears from my end. We're christian. Hoarding harms. Dust, mold, mites...you name it. The health hazards alone is all it took to win the arguments. He got them! Sinusitus, rhinitus, and all traced to dust. After he tried to blame it on my housekeeping, I took pictures. Of his shit. We have been living happier for 15 years, so it took a decade. Sorry so long. My late mil was disgusting with this. Some associate stuff with 'love' or 'well-being'. Dan's valentine's day gift is so similar to my husband's assinine ways of yore they could be twins. Hubs changed. Dan's alot stronger as a spouse in his role than anyone realizes. They live in a bad area. She mentions this in an archived post. She mentions the cigarettes they buy (mystery of D's teeth solved) getting stolen out of the glove compartment of the car. Do some digging from the link given above. Dan...SMOKES. Teeth...black. eww.

  104. I personally do not think the way Emily lives reaches the threshold of being neglectful to her children. I concede it is unusual. I know Dan and he is a genuine nice guy. The family is doing the best it can with what they have. Their lifestyle and belief system will surely evolve as they get older. That said, she put it all out there in cyberspace and the criticisms she received are not surprising. Dan did not start or really have part in the blog, so I feel bad that he was often the target of such hurtful comments. And trust me. He did find them hurtful. Teasing him because of perceived intellectual deficits and teeth issues is just cruel. The man works 40 hours a week at a job I would never want to do. He does his personal best to provide for his family. The blog is gone. Hopefully she does not start another one. I hope people let this family move on and work on improving their life. I have personally met this family. They are not nearly as bad as many make them out to be. The children are lovely and seem happy. Is there room for improvement? of course there is. No one is perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I am sure they are lovely, no snark intended. However, genuine as they may be: this is the internet. I never engaged in bashing Dan. Ever. I'm the 'irish twins' anon here. Maybe the cigarette thing was harsh. Yeah. The difference with this couple is: they went on the internet under a microscope. I'm sure Amy Dacyzyn (spelling?) got flak from her family for spray painting bread ties (the square plastic ones) and giving them to one of her kids for a Christmas gift. I read the book. However...she was more careful about her personal info. Amy also had her kids shoes tacked on the bottom with tuna can lids so they could 'tap dance'. Difference? Kept personal photos off and out of the books. No one is blaming outright (at least underneath all the snark, save one or two folks) Dan or Emily for choosing their lifestyle. But to say her boys 'like the room' they sleep in when they are 3 1/2 and 2 is a bit ridiculous. It's all they've known. Of course they like it.

No one trying to reach out to Emily ever accused her of trying to be perfect; that doesn't come across. It's the obstinate nature she displayed, which could be chalked up to youth.

Nice you met the family. I hope you encouraged her to live her life 'quietly' at this season of living. One shouldn't rush to share knowledge when so young. Many do.

Good day to you, Anon 8:22

  106. the family lives in squalor, her children do not eat proper food, the girl neglects her family the way she feels her mother neglected her, and she and her husband leave up all the negative comments on their blog, so they can feel"superior", and "holy", whilst they forgive all the sinners. vey simple. she wears her poverty as a badge(of sorts) of false honor...she has no reason on Gods green earth to live like that. she's no mother teresa....the sin of false pride...

    ReplyDelete
  109. I'm always amazed by people who support Emily.

I spent a large part of my childhood "dirt ass poor." The difference between my mother and Emily is that my mother actually wanted something for her children. Emily made a very poor attempt to glorify poverty. As someone who went without food and electricity as a child, I take great offense to a spoiled 20 something trying to glorify feeding her family shit food and treating her kids like puppies.

Little Miss Emily didn't fall into her situation, she wasn't the victim of an unfortunate childhood, she didn't lose her job, she didn't fall prey to a catastrophic event. She willfully chose to put her family into poverty and she made it quite clear that was her choice and the way she wanted it. Actually, she devoted a whole blog post to it titled "We Chose to be Here" or something of that nature. Choosing to live in poverty is a mockery of all those who were born into or fell into poverty by unfortunate circumstances, and essentially fight a large portion or even their whole lives to get out. Emily's CHOICE to live in poverty was a slap in the face to those in third world countries who willfully give their children up because they can't provide for them and know they'll never be able to offer them the life the deserve.

    And for Anon who says:

*(and by the way, at-home birth is not a new idea)*

You're right, home births are not a new concept. You obviously have no idea that there is a huge difference between the terms "homebirthing" and freebirthing" in the medical industry. Freebirthing IS a fairly new concept. Typical home births use a midwife who has been trained to deal with difficulties or deadly circumstances. Freebirthing (what Emily stated she ultimately wanted to do) is when the woman is assisted by no one, or someone such as her husband or a friend, it's the practice of using no medical professional whatsoever. That's pure ignorance. People as far back as the Native Americans and before had people in their villages who were designated as midwives. The fact that Emily wants to put her unborn child's life in the hands of a man who can't write a complete sentence does indeed make her a bad mother.

Last but not least, in as much as you think people on this site are "sick" for "picking" on poor Emily. I think it's sick that people like yourself sit back and condone child abuse, which is exactly what Emily is doing. So, I'll hold my opinion that you're a sick piece of shit that supports child abuse, and you can hold your opinion that we're just some poor lonely women that has nothing better to do.

  110. To the anon that know's the family. Thank you for sharing with us. It is nice to know that maybe things weren't as bad as Emily was presenting them. But then I reall the pictures of the apartment, and I can't see how it couldn't be that bad. It is a dangerous, filthy, depressing hole.

I have no doubt that Dan is a hard worker. It is very difficult to go to school and work full time. I know, I do it. My child is grown, I can't imagine doing it with three young ones and an unstable partner.

Do you happen to know why the blog shut down? Did Dan step in and say enough is enough? Did something happen at church that made Dan and Emily come to their senses? I know some people emailed his school, and I'm betting others emailed his church as well. It just seems that the timing for the blog coming down coincides with getting home from church, so I have a feeling something happened there.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Anon 8:22, I respectfully disagree that they are doing the best they can for their family when they are struggling but plan on having up to 13 children. My mother wanted six children, but when she was struggling to support three, she loved us enough to give up her dream for our benefit, and I respect her for that.

Emily has also admitted not turning up the heat in the Maine winter as well as turning down a turkey her church provided, as well as rejecting government programs that would improve her children's quality of life. They are NOT doing all they can for their children.

I respect that you may know more about their situation than we do, but all of my points are ones that Emily has volunteered herself. Also, please do not name their surname, although she volunteers that information, there are those of us 'snarkers' who feel it is inappropriate to do so when there are children involved.

    ReplyDelete
  112. For those who claim they're just a poor family doing the best they can:

No, they're not. Doing the best you can for your young kids sometimes means swallowing your pride and convictions and getting on wic and getting food stamps to free up precious money in the family for luxuries like a decent place to live and dental care. Not for your own sake, but for your kids.

    ReplyDelete
  113. This is a repost of the comment by the anon that knows the Emily family. I deleted the original because it contains their last name. Thanks to the anon who pointed that out, I totally missed it the first time I read it.

"I agree, she should have done more to protect her families privacy. The internet is unforgiving and I told her that. You said "One shouldn't rush to share knowledge when so young". I also agree with that, and unfortunately I think she learned that lesson the hard way.

If I step back and read Emily's blog pretending I did not know her, then I would see her in a different light than I do now. The blog while started with good intentions went south early on and she should have ended it earlier.

I know the (Lastname) family. Not overly close, but I have met them on several occasions. They really do come across in person as a decent young family, albeit far more religious than I. I have seen her encourage and support Dan when he was struggling, I have also seen Dan interact with the kids and he is a super father. Also, he works very hard. A lot of walmart workers just try to look busy and get through their shift. I have seen him at work and whatever they are paying him is not enough. He is always busy and seems to put pride into his tasks.

I just think some of the negative feedback she received was over the top. She put it all out their and some negative feedback was to be expected, but I think one can offer their opinion and/or constructive criticism without being cruel."

    ReplyDelete
  114. Dan put his own blog out there that blatantly showed the level of his "intelligence". So that was fair game. The teeth thing... I personally wouldn't go there. But as for people questioning his reading/writing capabilities... he put himself out there ("new or lions"???)

  121. Giz, maybe you should explain your sick agenda. After all, you're the one on heavy duty psych drugs not Emily. And regarding the mattress, what else can I infer when you're the one who said on your blog you "don't much care for kids." So why does something who doesn't care about much, including someone else's kids, get all "concerned."

It got me so curious I had to find it out, so here's what I got out of YOUR blog...

You can't get through a day without psych drugs, sleeping pills or booze. What is it? Are you depressed, bipolor, what? Now don't get me wrong, I'm glad your taking your meds, you shouldn't mess around with a mental health problems, but do you think you outght to be talking to your doctor about increasing the dosage.

Your boyfriend dropped you. Now who knows, maybe he figured out you were a crazy witch or you just can't pick a good guy. After all, you almost married your closeted gay boyfriend. It's pretty obvious you went into a tail-spin after you were dropped -- a whole year+ with no blogging. And then, when you did reemerge, you got fixated on Emily. How else can you explain this blog. Jeeze, Giz, you're heading towrads 40 not 13.

Then there's that whole thing about wanting to be a "writer." It must have pissed you off royally when you discovered Emily. Here's this not-nearly-as-talented-as-you nobody and she created a blog hundreds of thousands of people were reading -- 0 to 300,000 views in five months. But you couldn't even get a publisher interested in your children's book, so you had to self-publish.

What I get from reading your blog and this one, too, is you are a very unhappy person -- mental health issues, self-esteem issues, no real friend or at least close female friends -- but you're found some way to feel good. Unfortunately, it's tearing someone else down.

What kind of sicko creats a blog just to ridicule another human being?

Listen up folks, if this blog were directed at one of you (and there's a possiblity it could if Emily doesn't come back) or at one of your children, you would be up in arms. But yet, you think it's okay. What's that about? What are you missing in your moral make up that allows that. There's nothing wrong with having differing opinions or expressing those opinions, but you people have gone way past that. You've made it personal and you've made it mean.

I understand why Giz doesn't care how her behavior affects kids and I'm not talking about Emily's kids. After all, she's admitted she doesn't like kids, but most of you are parents and should be concerned about what your teaching your kids. Is this what you want them to learn -- it okay to ridicule, make fun of and be totally rude to other people.

Then God help us, because you're going to create monsters.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Sure, I take psych drugs. It's a chemical imbalance. I'm bipolar Type II. No shame in that. A lot of my original blog was a lot of tongue-in-cheek stuff. I'm not ashamed. I do think I'm a better writer than Emily. I don't really pursue it too much. Yes, I almost married my college fiance who turned out to be gay; we were both immature kids who didn't really know who we were. My latest relationship did end - sometimes they do. I don't like kids much - but I do care when they are being neglected. There was no agenda for having sent the mattress - I notice you didn't come up with one. And as for ridiculing someone you're doing the same thing with me and you don't seem to think it's a problem. Judge me all you want - I have big girl panties and can put them on. I like me and that's all that matters. I have a hard time believing anyone here is pointing this blog out to their kids to read. This is for adults only - I thought that was pretty obvious. If you were trying to make me feel ashamed of mocking Emily, ashamed of myself or embarrassed you've failed. You'll have to do better than that. Take care.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Oh, by the way - I never sent my little children's book to anyone but the self-publishing site. It was a silly little thing I wrote for my friends and family. That' all. So that's not really a very good insult. Try again.

  124. It doesn't feel so good to get slammed does it. I think I made my point.

  125. Wow Anon 5:46.... first off good job on actually owning what you said and posting under an anonymous name, if your going to dish it, own it. Second, I have no idea who Giz is, but I think her thoughts are valid, not all of us would create a blog like Giz did to say what is wrong with Emily, but she obviously has balls and did it. I think the common point here at this blog is Emily is really weird, she does kinda crazy things, and things that most grown women wouldn't do. Her last post she completely blasted a innocent reader, Lori, without any reason behind it. If you put yourself out there on a blog in the public light then you have to expect for people to either bash you or offer advice to you because their world views are different. Emily did not accept either of these with grace or humility. She caused what happened by her remarks and how she handled hostile or not so nice comments, so now she has to deal with it. It sucks, I can see that, but dont bash the ones who called her out. She couldn't handle it, sucks to be her right now, at least she has people IRL family and friends that love her, so maybe she should just depend on those people right now and stay out of the cyber world for a while.

It doesn't feel so good to get slammed does it. I think I made my point.

Heh heh. Oh, Anonymous @8:08PM, you funny! Slammed? Really? Do you think you're that clever? Made your point? Again, do you think you're that clever?

Giz IS an extremely gifted writer and that if nothing else makes her win at life in a way Emily does not.

It seems, Anon @8:08PM, that you have taken a page from Emily's book and have tried, and failed at, snarking. When one attempts snark and fails, it is a sad, sad affair. But it's also funny when someone steps up to the snark-bat and falls flat on their face, so thank you for coming out.

I think you'd have to be smarter than you are to properly "slam" anyone and I don't think anyone here really gives a unicorn's fart if you got your point across.

    Viva la Giz!

  127. You're right, I'm not good a snarking. It's not in my DNA. And I'm not even going to try to be funny or mean. Mental illness is serious. Bipolar disorder is serious. If you want to feel sorry for someone, feel sorry for her. Giz will be on heavy duty antipsychotics and mood sabilizers for the rest of her life. She's narcissistic and lacks the ability to feel any kind of empathy... towards anyone, not just Emily.

You and all her "friends" should be aware that by being part of this feeding frenzy, you're not doing her any good. Like Emily, she needs to shut this site down. For her own well-being.

  128. Oh brother, Anonymous, you're too much. Boy did you "slam" Giz that time! You made your point and then some!

First you tried to "slam" Giz and make some kind of "point" by REPEATING INFORMATION that Giz herself PUBLISHED on a PUBLIC BLOG. What were you trying to accomplish, repeating information that was shared freely with the rest of the world? Oh, that's right...you were trying to "slam" her and prove a point. By repeating information Giz shared freely. On a public blog. For all the world to read. Smooth, yeah?

When that brilliant move didn't work, when you didn't "slam" her or really make any kind of point that makes sense to the thinking mind, you decided to publicise your ignorance (for the second time) by making nutty assumptions regarding bipolar disorder. Truly, your concept of the disorder and treatment options are grossly out of date. Like, grossly out of date. You've made some truly uninformed generalisations in an attempt to "slam" someone with the diagnosis...it's almost as though you didn't care in doing so that you'd make yourself look like the ignorant fool.

So you've had two opportunities to try your hand at cyberbullying - your first time out you shared information that was freely shared with the entire friggin' world and your second time around you exposed your ignorance with frightening, outdated information on bipolar disorder.

I am truly excited to see what you'll try next!

PS Your faux concern just embarrasses all of us.

PPS There is no such thing as "cyberbullying" between adults on the internet. I just wanted to add that for anyone who wondered if that were a valid complaint.

  129. Anon 8:08pm - if your attempt was to make me feel bad about myself I'm afraid you'll have to do better than that. I'm personally proud that I have the insight to be introspective and proactive about my psychological issues and take steps to combat them. I think I'm rather cool for not crawling into a hole feeling sorry for myself. Further, I did put some of that stuff on a public blog as someone above me pointed out. Hence, I'm not ashamed of myself. Further, I can take the heat - that's why I'm in the kitchen. I trust that the people in real life who know me can see how awesome I am. And the cyber people who know me can sese a lot more than "mental illness" so I'm grateful for that, too. I find your attempts to "expose" me and shame me really lame. I don't feel hurt - I feel sorry for you.

  130. Oh, and if you really did read comments here you'd realize I don't own this blog nor did I start it. I'm simply a contributor and am proud that my mad writing skills resulted in an invitation to participate. Get your facts straight.

If you are Emily then let's wonder why you are on here being silly if you were so stressed out by the whole situtation. I can hook you up with an awesome psychiatrist if you want. :) or, as Emily would do: (:

  131. One last thing - in case anyone is interested and to show "Anon" that her attempt to shame me is silly.

I take Lamictal (100mg) to combat the mood swings of BPD. I take Cymbalta (30mg) for depression. I take Geodon (20mg) for anxiety. Yes, Geodon is an anti-psychotic. And I'm grateful for it.

I personally don't think I'm ready for a straight jacket yet but what do I know? I'm C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!!!

BTW, if you think I'm so crazy why are you poking the beast?? LOL

  132. Gizmola, I think you're funny and all, but now you're seeming kind of Emily-like with your frantic replying to trolls. And I think it seems frantic because of the three comments in quick succession.

I will never understand why people feel the need to justify themselves to random people on the internet.

    ReplyDelete
  133. KT - you have a point. Actually, I woke up in the middle of the night and can't sleep and am frustrated by lack of sleep. Perhaps I've been taking my sleep-frustration out on the troll. Point taken.

  134. Anon 5:46/10:29 - Aw, is that you, Lucifer? McNutter? One of Em’s minions? Sock puppet? Or is that really you, Emily?

Really, whoever this is, do you get what this site is about? No, you’ve no clue? Haven’t done the research because you were too busy researching Gizomola’s personal background? Okay then, here it is in a nutshell.

Your dear Emily portrays herself as some kind of fundie, frugal life-style guru. However, her ideas and execution are craptastic…lots of mundane step by step instructions; nutritionally deficient recipes; questionable mathematical calculations; etc… and evidential photos provided of said posts of the day. Not only are a lot of her ideas unoriginal, a lot of them pose some kind of danger (short-term and long-term consequences) to her family. Anytime anyone suggests or points out to her that her approach may be harmful to her children, she gets defensive and contumaciously, will not even entertain the thought that she may be incorrect or ignorant in her view. Tips, constructive criticism, and even help (monetary or personal assistance), however gently presented and offered by her supporters and even her staunchest adversaries, have been poo-pooed, deleted, or not posted at all. Everyone, her faithful followers and her opponents, questions why she has all forsaken all reason and common sense with regard to the day to day care, health, personal safety (short & long-term), and living conditions of her family, to pursue this endeavor to subsist in abject poverty (her choice). After reviewing her blog that she writes and provides photos of, how can one not come to the conclusion that she willfully neglects and exploits her family’s misery and health for profit? She is the one that has shown herself to be the bully…to her family and to her readers (see Rachael Post 8:24 above. That is just ONE example).

You can not vouch for Emily, so you must attack Gizmola personally on the interweb to detract from the real point of concern, but anonymously, of course. So what if she does or does not have some kind of mental illness? She has the insight & takes the initiative to remedy that situation, and she is not harming anyone else while doing so. I do not see anyone languishing in filth, mold-spores, or urine; undernourished; or falling into a coma because of her actions/decisions. Whom she chooses to marry or not…that is not our business, and it does not pertain to Emily’s willful neglect of her family, nor does it diminishes Gizmola’s capacity of empathy for others. It is Emily that is lacking in empathy for others, including, sadly, her own babies. You would know that if you really had read her blog through and through.

Even if Gizmola had said that she did not care for children, that means absolutely nothing. You can hate someone, and still do something nice for that person with no personal agenda whatsoever. Believe or not, people do this everyday. If Gizmola did have an agenda, it would be that she did not want Emily’s boys to CONTINUE to sleep on a filthy, urine-soaked mattress on the filthy, cold floor…(or on a few blankets, a sack of hay or whatever ire-inducing idea Emily had latched onto at the moment…with her you never know, because she never does what she says she will do). Gizmola’s heartfelt intention is apparent. She walks the walk…she does not blather on all day about what she may or may not do to lure back her readers…she’s not campaigning for martyrdom or for reader clicks.

I’d tell you to go back and do your research by reading Sweet Emily’s blog and the fun discussions in the comments section, but of course, she has taken down her blog. She does not take kindly to people who do not fawn over her and her fabulous ideas, but ironically, it was not these people that she had deemed “idiots” that had driven her to shut down her site; it was the people that she had “liked.” What does it say about her character when her own legion of faithful followers call her out on her own lies, ineptness, or rudeness towards a well-meaning commenter? She can’t handle it so she runs away crying, claiming that her internet buds are now causing her distress and are bullying her, too. Boo-hoo-hoo.

It would relieve me greatly, to discover that this blog of hers was a an elaborate hoax concocted by Emily to earn supplemental income for her family, and not sadly, that she is TRULY neglecting and exploiting them on the internet. But unless SHE or YOU can provide us with concrete evidence otherwise, I am going to believe for now, by her own writing, that she deliberately denies her family important basic necessities when she has choices within walking distance to improve their lives.

Anon, if you are really are Emily, turn up the heat, feed your family, and for goodness sakes, please get your boys some real beds Off.The.Floor. with real, clean sheets. Nothing fancy, just clean, dry, and warm. PLEASE!!!!!!!

  137. Oh awesome, now there are two Megs. Three's a party!

I still find all of the Emily supporters hilarious. There really didn't seem to be many here until her blog her blog was shut down. So, I'd go as far to say that many of them are Emily herself. ( Hi Emily!!)

Anon (the one who writes a really long post bashing Giz)- have you looked up the statistics on mental disorders? One in four adults in the US suffer from a mental disorder. A large number of adults are UNdiagnosed. I think it would be a good idea if you went to see your doctor. He needs to figure out if there's a stick in your ass, or if you really do believe those delusions of grandeur protruding from your insanely long attempt to snark on Giz. Really, it's okay to admit that you suck at snarking.

  138. Hey, Meg the First.

*small Voice * Guilty of emotional verbal diarrhea. * lowers head in shame *

Sorry everyone about the long rant. I had been so behind on this and the other “anti-me” site. When I had read Em’s less than gracious thank you to Gizmola; how she’s a liar; and now people (or just Miss CrazyTrain) are discussing the minutia of Gizmola’s personal life to deflect from her own faults…uncalled for and unnecessary, I was incensed. I feel helpless in that I can not just go over to wherever she lives and just shake her… and then help her sterilize and organize that hovel of hers.

I agree with you and some of the others that SHE may suffer from some kind of mental instability that she needs to have a doctor look at. I know we should never play armchair psychiatry, especially on the web, but unless Emily is really that extremely cruel of a person or she is playing all of us, how can she not be a little touched in the head? What normal person thinks and behaves they way that she does and does not see that there is something inherently wrong with that?

She’s just a narcissistic, emotional vampire. Seriously, look at how she treats her audience. They must preface each question or suggestion with a “I promise, I am not being snarky in anyway, but…” in their comment for fear of incurring her wrath or for fear of not having their comment posted at all, and thus, being ignored by the great sage herself. She manipulates them so well that some of her more devoted sycophants go trolling over to fight her battles on these types of sites. Most of her readers are not dumb and have now caught on to her craziness. At least, I hope that they have come to that realization, because she is misleading them all.

Aside from what she tells and shows us how treats her family, I am fearful of how she truly treats them when not posting, moderating comments, chastising her readers there and chastising people over here and elsewhere (in addition to all her other alleged housekeeping/homemaking responsibilities); that is, if she really does require some psychiatric help. Withholding food is just one of the many horrific ways to control people. I am so sad for what the future holds for these boys, what they their daily obstacles will be if they do not get help now.
