number ten 2004 red sox's
it had been eighty years sense they had won a world series. people said they were under a curse because they sold babe Ruth to the Yankees. they got close a few times but could not sea the deal. then in 2005 which was not a great season for them they defied the ODs and beat the Yankees in the play offs.
9. social networks
first there was email then chats. in the mid point of the decade, social networks came into being. the idea was to connect Friends family and make new Friends. first there was my space then there was face book which is my favorite. then twit er where you tell what you are doing. it Can be "i got hit by a car going to church" to "i just drank a cup of coffee" some think it is silly. it has certainly changed how we do things. i have been able to keep up with Friends form my high school to college to my home town you name it.
8. American idol
the TELNET search goes 21st century. the phenomena has started the carers of Kelly carkson. daughterly, mantissa, Chris sleigh, Jordan sparks cay akin and more. the odd thing is that many who won have not gone on to be that successful like Rubin.
7. 2006 Congressional elections
after the 2004 election the republican seam to be on top. bush had won reelection, republican had picked up more seats in the house and Senate. this Congress was a desester. form Terry schivo to corruption probes , Katrina, and mark Foley. i remember Sean hanity theme don't wake up with the news Nancy piosi is your new speaker of the house. i hoped that the republican would keep the congress. it was a Republican blood bath. it was a democratic revolution ike 1994. it was mostly conservative democrats who defeated republican incumbents. they voted Democrats because they had no alternative.
6. 2004 presidentle election.
seance the election of 200 the democrats saw bush as illegitimate. he stole the election. the democrats wanted to win next time. when 911 happened a coilition government emerged. everyone came to gather. politics came back. the war in Iraq was very controversial. when the war went sower an anti war sentiment emerged. Democrats thought they would win. john Kerry came in after Howard deen tanked. Kerry cam panged as a man who would fight the war better. the swift boats became a Thorn in his side. in the morning it looked like Kerry had won Ohio. bush won it slightly and won the presidency. the values voters came out to support bush. it was a shock to the democrat and a thrill to the GOP.

I admit it :) I'm just messin' with her, I'll probably remove her posts in a few days, but I'll probably still post them on FreeJ, and then add a link from here to there and vice versa ;)
I'll use this site as a parody site, so if anyone has any funny, original works spoofing Emily and/or Dan, send them through and I will recopy them as a post and give credit to the author, if the author desires credit. Of course everyone is free to remail anonymous as well.

Oh Noes!
Another blog post from rantofdan.blogspot.com This post is also long gone from his blog since Emily retyped all his posts.
i got hit by a car
yesterday i had a day off form work. it was pretty uneventful. i typed up my paper for missons class and mostly just relaxed the after noon. there is a baptist church near my house. my church does not have an evening service so some times i go to that church at night. it is in walking distance. it is a quick walk. it is always Erie walking. it is dark early now. i freak whenever i see people walking. it is aways a relief when i see the sing for (name removed to limit identifying information) baptist church. i feel i am there. there is a side walk to the church. i was waiting to cross. a car stop ed. as i walking i was nearing the side walk. all of a sud en i see a red ford focus coming. it kept coming. it thought to myself. its not stopping. why is it not stopping. i thought it has to stop. it hit me. i fee to the ground. i got up quickly.
a lady who was driving st oped. people form the church were very concerned. the guy gave me his information then left but alter came back. he was very apologetic. i had to feel out a statement. i ended up missing church. the police officer brought me home. my wife was freaked out by the whole thing.
i give God the glory for helping me. i don't feel like God spared me for something or anything like that. it does require some evaluating but it Will take time to short it all out. i am gad that i am OJ. I do thank God for his protection on me. it does give me pause.

my views on theological isues
king James version
i am not king James only. i love the king James why? because the king James translators believed that the bible was word of God. they did not engage in text criticism. a couple weeks ago i brought the esv to church. the elder spoke on john 8. if you read john 8 in the esv, there are brakets that say that this is is not in the earliest text or some say the "best text". satin uses text criticism to under mine the word of God. it is hard to be blessed when the bible you have says that what the elder is teaching on is not scripture. this is a travesty's! if there was a bible other then the king James version that believed that john 8 was the word of God i would use it. some say that what about mark 16. it talks about snake handling. we cant go carry snakes and not be bitten. in Gods Will we Can. Paul did in acts. we cant go and pick up poisonous snakes but God could protect us if we are in his will.

the emerugent church is right that there is a problem in the church. churches are obsesedwith numbers,fads trends poi tics the g.op. the problem is the emergent church responsds to it by going the opposite way. they go extreme to the left. they questone key doctrines of if we even need to discus doctrine. the fact is taking a leap of faith in the current situation and not just burying our head in the sand and think every thing is OK.

i have a different view on tongs then most who attend baptist churches although i no longer attend a baptist church. i believe that tongs may exist. the proof text used to prove that toungs have ceased is first Corinthians 13 that says where there is toungs they shall cease. when shall they cease. people point to the verse that says that when the perfect comes it wi pass away. they say the perfect is the Canon of scrirpture. there is no prof if that. knowledge Will pass away yet we sit have know edge today. i don't be live in the second blesing. tongs is not a prerec for a right relationship with God.

there had aways been fears that a strong enough hurricane could take out the levies in new Orlons. apparently president bush was briefed a year before that this could happen. the hurricane originally was believed to be heading to Florida but then went to Louisiana and Texas. no one took is seriously enough. governor blanko and ray nag en the mayor lets buses gets drenched. the GOP blamed banko and the negon they blamed the republicans. it was a desester that ended banko carer and was the begging of the decline of bush and the Congressional republicans. new or lions sill has not recovered. many refuges stil have not returned.

the gulf war was the first war of my ife time. i was ten. i heard all my life we should have taken out Sodom. i remember in 1998 when sad om kicked out the inspectors and there was a two day war. when bush was elected there was speculating that president bush would deal with sad om. after 911 the administration seemed to be looking for an excuse to go to war with Iraq. i was at school in Canada when the war broke out. i was against it but i was impressed how quicky it went. then it went shower. it coast the republicans Congress in 2006. the troop surge was a huge success. the war in Iraq was one of the big est on going events of this decade.

in 2000 bil Clinton was term limited. the republicans hoped they coud get a republican in the white house. the Evangelicals loved george bush. the democrats felt like they had more to do. both sides wanted to win. the elction was reily close. it was a month of recounts dimples chads. the vote was never fished. the supreme court ruled that the votes could not be counted and bush was ahead so he should be president. the Democrats couture to think he stole the election.

the defining moment of this first decade. the world would never be the same. i remember getting up and turning on the TV and seeing what had happened. America would be in a war on terror. the republicans and Democrats would come together like never before for a while. its has been years and we have forgot in a bit. life has gone back to normal. i think we Will never forget.
