A look of Disgust!

The midwife and her assistant look disgusted. And why are there dirty sheets hanging up?

  1. The thought of giving birth and bringing an innocent child into the world in that hellhole is sickening.

  2. I'm really surprised a midwife would even deliver a baby there. Don't they normally encourage a clean birthing environment?

  3. The sheets are to protect the precious books. lol

  4. I doubt they're licensed midwives, hence why they delivered a baby there. Disgusting. She's lucky he didn't get sick.

  5. The gloves are to protect themselves from the fith that grows there

  6. I would be shocked if they were licensed midwives, that place is so gross!! What a novel idea by the way... using sheets for beds and not just randomly hanging around rooms! ;)

  7. well..cockroaches live in filth and develop amazing immune systems...I'll assume that is what they're going for in that family.
Bravo! They're one of the few people I've seen who are PROUD to proclaim that they are NOT going to do the best they can for their kids.
It is almost refreshing. in a sad, sick, grody way.

  8. I'll be the Devil's Advocate here: Maybe those are the soap nut clean sheets from the WonderWash? Emily doesn't use bleach and vinegar doesn't remove stains.
Since I can't see the state of the floor, I will not comment on it.

The filth in the apartment or in Emily's va-jay-jay?

  10. I don't think Emily had the winder wash back then. Me thinks those are sheets that were washed in rubbermaid.

I often get weepy when I see photos of parents cradling their very new born babies. There is so much emotion there, it's hard not to get hit with it. In this case I wanted to weep because that room is no way to welcome a human being into the world.

People don't need to live like Emily lives, and I'm sure those who do dream of living a better life. Emily is clearly carrying around a wounded brain because she rejoices in living with her children in a sty.

What a cruel bitch Emily is.

  11. I think Dan cradling his newborn son in that photo is absolutely adorable.

But at the same time, I want to reach into the photo, punch him upside the head, and tell him, "You might not think you deserve to live any better than this, but surely your kids do?

"Your wife is fucking nuts--in two years or so that poor child will be sleeping on the floor in a dogbed, and she'll think that's just fine. So if you're going to stay married to her and keep popping out babies, it's up to you to counteract her craziness on their behalf. If you don't have the pride to demand better for yourself, at least get it for your kids."

  12. The sheets are to thwart off any possible theft of books and star trek cd's by the midwives!
I sure wouldnt touch them with a 10 ft pole!

  13. If I was those midwives and opened that apartment door and the woft of stench hit my nose and seeing a glimpse of all the crap I would have turned around and said thanks but no thanks, I sugggest you take her to the hospital

  14. Wow, that picture really is heartbreaking. My cousin had a home birth for her last child and the mood could not have been more different. The pictures are of her lovely bedroom with family pictures and art on the walls. Everyone looks joyful and loving. They're quiverful too, but their house looks NOTHING like this mess.

  15. maybe the nurses are grossed out because emily's privates have lacto-fermented.

  16. Does anyone know which baby this is? Has she had another?

  18. This is so sad. This guy is way too thin....

  19. Dan reminds me of pictures I've seen of starving concentration camp victims during WWII. He must be "slow" to let Emily literally starve him and his children to death!

  20. THey paid an unlicensed midwife $4K? Highway robbery!

  21. this is just an observation and opinion on my part. having worked with midwives in obstetrics and having had children with midwives...those two don't look very professional to me. they look kinda scary.

and i have to wonder with home births-about the mess. having delivered many babies in a hospital environment that has a break down bed, doctors table with supplies, and all the covers/bags/etc. to contain the mess...

the apartment is small and already terribly cluttered. i wonder how they kept it tidy throughout the delivery? and for any bedding that was used. i assume it would have been trashed? no soap nuts and wonderwash could clean that mess up. but for some reason i can't imagine frugal emily throwing them out. =/

did she ever do anything with the placenta? i bet it's in her freezer.
