OK, so as everyone knows by now, Emily's blog is gone. We don't know if it is permanent, or if this is another publicity stunt. Emily deleted it once before and then came back and said someone hacked her account.
Yesterday morning she posted her daily drivel, and was talking about plans for future blog entries so whatever happened was rather sudden.
I don't think she expected the backlash for barking at the comment Lori left her. Emily accused Lori of commenting here (BTW, I don't recall Lori ever posting here) and I think her comments heated up because of that. I think she really got a lot of heat too for her contest for the Room of Horrors that wasn't really a contest. Emily had her plans before she posted that, and she came up with a good lie of why she chose #3 even though her readers didn't vote for it.
I have a Gloodle Ravioli post that I was going to do some day this week, but other than that, I think we'll just keep this open in case Emily resurfaces somewhere on the net. Giz might have some posts she wants to publish, but I'm not sure. I'll keep this blog here, but it's doubtful that there will be many postings without the Snippy Fundie around.
If you have any info, Tweets, or Facebook messages that you want to share, or any insider info as to what happened, post away.

I never saw the other blog (and it does sound pretty bad) but geeeez why do you care??? you must waaay too much time on your hands! get a life!
ReplyDeleteAnon,
ReplyDeleteThey care because there are 3 small children involved, one who was recently sick enough to be in the hospital for a week. If you saw the pictures on the website you would care too, or you would be devoid of compassion for living creatures.
I love how all these Anon's are showing up criticizing this site, but they say they've never seen Emily's site. Then how did you get here? Let me guess, you "just stumbled across it"? LOL.
ReplyDelete((Hi Emily!!))

ReplyDeletemy thoughts exactly! :)
Hi EM!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you take your kids to the doctor, get rid of that exposed bulb electrocution hazard light in the bathroom, get rid of the stinky, urine soaked, non-sheet protected crib mattress (of course, you wouldn't take a brand new organic crib mattress though), your safety hazard shelves and bins, and fermented bacteria filled foods and dirty clothes and filthy blankets and duct taped mattress and ALL the rest of the House of Horrors.
I'm glad the blog is down. No more funding child neglect and endangerment.
And Em? Take the comments to heart. Stop having kids until you can properly care for the ones you have. End of story.
I care because I am concerned about the well-being of those kids. I honestly feel that some of the snarking has gone a little overboard, but as others have said, Emily put it all out there for the entire world to see and invited comments and suggestions.
ReplyDeleteAnd also, there was a very strange comment on Dan's blog this morning that sounded a lot like a threat against the entire family (I think it's under the latest posting). Frightening stuff and if there's something like real-life stalking going on, then it's a good thing the blog was removed. I just wish Dan or someone would give us an update and let everyone know the family is okay.
Cut and pasted the weird comment on Dan's blog. I am assuming "raft" means "wrath" It may be a warning but it sounds vaguely like a threat. WTF?:

If this is just a joke and a way to lure people to her blog then I don't think they realize the raft that will come to them. I have warned them and so has others that harm could come to them and their children if they don't stop all of this

She's such an over the top attention whore that I doubt her blog is down for good. Lady is cracked in the head. She'll come back and be like, "OH SOMEONE HACKED MY ACCOUNT AGAIN!!1"
ReplyDeleteFor those who are interested:
ReplyDeletehttp://emilysbellybutton.blogspot.com/
She posted there this morning "explaining" what happened with her blog. This was her original blog before the under1000 idea.
She'll be back. You're talking $1300 a month. She's not gonna pass up on that kind of money.
ReplyDeleteShe's surfaced at Bellybutton!
ReplyDeletein the most recent post on the belly button blog, I just love the following lines:
ReplyDelete"I had been asking Dan all week if we could shut it down yet. He said I had good things to say, things that people needed to hear, that I should give it more time.
Finally, on Sunday, I hit my limit. I begged Dan to let me shut it down. He saw how exhausted I was and conceded."
Painting herself to be the super Fundy submissive wife, when it was probably Dan begging her to take the blog down and not the other way around...
On her FB page, Emily just announced:
ReplyDeleteI'm going to continue to blog semi-regularly on my old blog [link to Belly Button blog]
Thank you for your thoughts.
Emily made $1500 in blog income for February? Wowza.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sorry I just can't see HER begging Dan to let her take the blog down. She claims to be a submissive wife but she sure doesn't come across that way.
I knew she wouldn't be able to not blog for long. She is hooked on the attention and the money (even though she won't use any of it for the kids).
I call BS on the Blogher revenue. I know people that have 5 times the traffic she has, and who made not even half of that in a revenue for February.
ReplyDeleteShe is full of shit!
ReplyDeleteIf her church/Dna/CPS/hacker "forced/asked/demanded" her to shut down the blog, she circumvented the ruling.
She is not a submissive wife. Period. Let it go and come clean. You rule the house.
I think she forgot to put a decimal somewhere in that $1500. Typo. That's it.
ReplyDeleteI heart Emily and I am going to miss her blog. But, there was just too much that makes a somewhat normal person questions the truth of her blog.
ReplyDelete1. Daniel goes into a coma and then we hear nothing of the outcome. As a parent, I could never accept "I dunno know why your son fell into a coma." from a doctor.
2. How can not someone read person after person say that room is unsafe and not act? Boggles my mind.
3. I was totally freaked out when she posted the cloth fabric on the walls. That was so, I don't know. Sloppy, lazy. I was so insulted. I am friggin reading your blog and you care so little of me that you are just going to staple fabric onto a wall? This is the world wide web. How the heck did she think the post was remotely informational?
I am not a blogger but, I have journaled about Emily. If anyone is interested, here is the link: http://onion94.livejournal.com/ I apologize that you have to muddle through the mundane aspects of my life to get to the Emily stuff.
Emily has something to contribute. I doubt Dan is causing her to submit.
Personally? I think Emily is a just a young Mom trying to do the best that she can. She is learning and growing as a person. She found a way to bring income into the house. Is she mature enough to handle it? No. Are some of her thoughts and ideas unfanthomable? Yes.
I think that if Emily didn't get defensive, her blog would really been great.
It is what is. I wish her family the best.
Bullsh!t. BULLSH!T. There are multiple explanations for her blog going down (Dan got freaked out that people knew their address, the pastor got involved, he was tired of eating gloodles soaked in tomato juice), but she did not "beg him to let her take it down." I call shenanigans! Not to mention her blog income is an outright lie.
ReplyDeleteOh, Miss Emily. Jesus hates it when you lie. And because I know that means nothing to you, I think Spock was all about honesty too.
I don't think she "begged" Dan to take it down despite his assurances that she had something to say, given the tweeting or whatever he did yesterday about being "liberated".
ReplyDeleteThere's no way she can stay away from the computer. Remember after little dna came home from the hospital and she said she was going to take some time off and post a few thoughts here and there before getting back in the swing of things? What did it take - 2 days maybe before she was right back in her old mode?
ReplyDeleteI think what everyone is missing is that she said "a combined income of close to $1500 in February.". She doesn't tell us what it was combined. I sincerely doubt she made $1500 of of the blog that is no longer.
ReplyDeleteWhile I raised eyebrows over some of her comments.. PEOPLE, there is WT everywhere. This gal just figured out how to use a computer. Good for her for getting some extra income.
ReplyDeleteShe did break it down and showed how she made that amount. It was not all from blogHer. It was swagbucks and other things as well.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to figure out how harassing this woman and calling her an unfit mother is at all beneficial to her children? What if the stress causes her to go even more off the deep end (as you claim she is anyway) and harm the kids? This is the problem with joke blogs and anything else that stems from snarkfest on thebump. It can do some real damage if it gets out of hand. I think you should think about that.
