Emily's Belly Button

Thanks to the sleuth's who found our favorite fundy. http://emilysbellybutton.blogspot.com/

Looks like she won't be giving it up after all, she's just going to use the Belly Button site (wonder if she can still get BlogHer ads there) and contribute to Frugal Hacks on Wednesday's.

I call BS that she begged Dan to let her close it. She was practically bubbling with excitement about a series of posts on decorating the Room of Horror's on Sunday.

I think Dna made her shut it down.

  1. Good lord is she ever full of shit. For starters no way did she beg Dna to take down her blog - Secondly, if she made 1,500 for sitting on her ass posting her house of horrors and storage solutions then I'm bikini ready! 1,500 for doing nothing! If I were making that I wouldn't give a nuns twat about comments and critique, bring it on...I'll think about your snark while I'm buying a couple of pairs of Manolos or Louboutins a month, suckers!

  2. The best part is where she vehemently denies that the haters brought her to this decision. Noooo, no no no no, it was the people I LIKE who made me want to stop. Sure, Emily. LOL.

And I thought BlogHer revenue was calculated every 45 days, not every month? I call shenanigans.

  3. Ladies .... WE WON!!

Now Emily will (hopefully) spend more time paying attention to her children, which is what we all wanted. There's no way she could have spent as much time as she was online (between blogging daily, checking so many forums, etc.) and been a responsive mother. There's just no way.

So I say this is a WIN for the kiddos, and therefore a win to all of us in my book.

Emily, good for you for making the right decision for your family. Have fun, and enjoy those three beautiful little cuties! I can't imagine how much you've missed these past several months.

  4. Snarky Kitty on Free Jinger posted Emily's blog stats and there isn't anyway that she could have made the amount of money she claimed.

    Site Statistics
    Unique Visitors Today: 2,861
    Page Views Today: 7,794
    Unique Visitors this Week: 11,968
    Page Views this Week: 38,426
    Unique Visitors this Month: 64,839
    Page Views this Month: 200,956
    Total Unique Visitors: 167,719
    Total Page Views: 527,473
    Total Hits Out: 119

    I'm pretty sure 1/10 of cent at 527,473 doesn't total $1500....

  5. Her bellybutton site will turn right into her old site. She can't help herself. This was a very contrived move to generate interest as I suspect that both her supporters and detractors we're pretty much done with her lying and contradictions, and the trainwreck of her life.

Emily did NOT make $1500 blogging in February. First off, there is no way she could know that yet. Secondly, numerous sources that directly show her traffic don't bear out her claim. My opinion is that she appears to be a pathological liar with a less than firm grip on reality.

Beg dna to take the blog down. My ass. He sounded relieved in his twitter post. She's got something up her sleeve.

  6. I can't help but feel sorry for that whole family. There's nothing wrong with Emily having a blog... thousands of mothers do, as a way to connect to the outside world. There's nothing wrong with that.

What's wrong, was her attitude. Her blatantly throwing it in everyone's face that her children were endangered.

Believe me, I've had my fair share of criticism. OMG. I've been called every name in the book, and had accusations, and everything else. But, I put my life out there. People know the situation I was in, what I was going through, and how I'm pregnant and going through a divorce.

She shouldn't have started blogging if she couldn't face some criticism, or some suggestions.

This comment (or, as Dan calls them, "coment") made me angry:

*I had gotten used to the haters. They were pretty stupid; I wrote them off as willfully ignorant.*

So, if someone has a suggestion to do something different, then they are a hater? And, because we don't abide by the logic of Emily, then we are stupid and willfully ignorant?

    Dear, Lord.

  7. 11:24am poster--- this is not the end of it. As another poster said, she is just going to turn this new blog into her old one. She will not increase her time with her kiddos because she'll still be too busy with her blog craziness. It's sad.

  8. I'm a Blogher blogger, so I can give you hard figures. Things have been very slow over at Blogher these past few months. That was also the case in January, so I wasn't buying the $1300 story then either.

With 200.000 pageviews a month, the blanks they've been running all month and (at best) all the Blogher house ads (roughly 80% of all fillings) that sell for $0,80 per 1000 impressions, I say she didn't make a penny over $600. Of which roughly 55% goes straight to blogher.

    She's lying.

  9. Maybe she is talking about Swagbucks LOL I don't think she made that much either. I love how she pretty much blames Dna for making her have the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Wow, dan sure is a jerk isn't he? Forcing his wife to keep on blogging despite her pleas. Not much of a pastor in training is he? course i realize emily just said that to save face. Already she is name calling and lying, she just doesnt learn.
I really feel for those kids. Maybe who ever sent the old blog to dan's school will do so with the belly button one as well...I would think they'd want to know what kind of "pastor" they are training.
    Craziness!

  11. Wait a second. Didn't she once post that she had received something like 200 swagbucks, and counted them as dollars? I thought the equivalent was something like, 45 swagbucks equals a $5 Amazon gift card. Right?

So, maybe that's how she's *inflating* her earnings.

  12. "I had gotten used to the haters. They were pretty stupid; I wrote them off as willfully ignorant. In the same comment they would tell me I was stubborn, arrogant, unwilling to change or admit I was wrong, while declaring that I contradict myself SO MUCH, citing examples of how I did things one way here, then changed my mind, denouncing that way of doing things and deciding to do it a different way some where else. What the frig?! Maybe they were pulling my leg, because it is hard to believe that people are that stupid.

It wasn't the people that I thought were idiots that drove me to shut down the blog, it was the people that I liked."

I'm thinkin' 'stupid' and 'idiots' may not be virtues of a pastor's wife. What did that anon say in the other post? Dan and Emily are "lovely" people?

I have no doubt they are lovely people. I question publicly allowing these words to be shown. Lovely folks get to be angry too. However, she sounds a little psychotic with the frig thing.

Em...get this off your chest 'off-line' if you wish to regain (or start having) credibility. Just sayin'.

  13. As for the $1500, just remember, this is Emily we're talking about. The numbers fudge-queen. Her bookkeeping reminds me of the federal government's.

  14. I'm sure Dna tied her hands to the keyboard and made her post every day before he'd allow her in their mattress....
I don't get her. I feel bad for the kids. She should have plenty of time to tidy up and clean a little, but instead she's wasting it away by being on the computer.
I was a bit sad to see she posted on the belly button set. She's obviously angry though and needed to get something out...wish she'd just be honest.

  15. Random thought:

The blog disappeared on Sunday, right? Maybe someone at their church found it and commented on it, prompting Dna and Em to take it down to save face?

    Just sayin....

  16. Anon 12:45

I so agree with you on that. I can't fathom how dense Emily is that she doesn't see the significance. If people that she likes (and who used to like her) are suddenly "turning" on her, then there's probably a reason. Hello? Time for a little introspection and humility.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Her post doesn't make any sense - she stopped blogging because the people who liked her were stressing her out? Am I still asleep?

I have a really hard time believing anything she writes. I can't believe that under any circumstances that someone would give up a blog that makes $1000+ a month. No way. Especially if it is equal to what your total income had been pre-blog. Therefore, I don't believe she was making that kind of money blogging. At all.

Further, I think that the reaction she got on the boys' room, the mattress silliness and her attack on Lori convinced her that there were very few, if any, people who adored her. I believe she stopped because the blog wasn't fulfilling its true purpose: to make her feel validated through the fawning of strangers.

I shan't post any comments on Emily's new blog (can't write the name as it is too disgusting). I'm not really sure I should continue with any parodies. It's become a little sad and pathetic now.

  18. Well..Giz. You could always wait and see. Perhaps a blog opening with the title "Cave Lint" or something. Then again, now that we know more of her emotional profile, and realize she is teachable about nothing, the comments won't be the same. Does FH pay for contributors?

  19. She is so full of shit. Ugh. Im sorta glad she is gone.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't think she ever said she made that much on BlogHer....I thought that was the amount she made from BlogHer, Swagbucks and some other stuff combined?

Anyways, I find it odd that she would make some snarky little post on a Sunday (remember back when she said Sunday was her blogging day off, or she would do book reviews that day?) then she turns around and deletes the blog after church because it was just so damn hard on her. For a normal person, when things get to be "too much", they take a day off, or two, or three or four. Not Emily, she was in full snark force just hours before she deleted it.

I don't believe her at all. I think someone from church mentioned they had received a message or something concerning Emily, and she ran home and shut that shit down as fast as she could.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The blog was stressing her out so much that she had to take it down, but she still couldn't go more than 24 hours without a blog post? She be back at it soon.

    ReplyDelete
  22. She took down the blog after posting the winner of her "contest" and reading the comments.

She'll be back. She can't stop. Worry not.

Dna didn't give her permission, she threw a tantrum and doesn't know how to backtrack out of her "contest" so to save face the stress made her take it down.

It'll be interesting to see her phoenix act this time.

    ReplyDelete
  23. She is a sad sad little girl...and yes Emily, you are a little girl trying to play the grown up game of being a wife and mommy and you are pretty much an epic fail.

I feel sorry for the whole family at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Someone posted a comment on Dan's blog today. They said that Emily was on Facebook saying that she was going to bring the blog back in a week or so.

    ReplyDelete
  25. She won't stay away from blogging. Remember how after Lil Dan came home from the hospital she said she wasn't going to be blogging.
And then continued to blog every day.

maybe she took it down because Blogher dropped her.

    ReplyDelete
  26. And look there, NO COMMENTS allowed on her blog now. Shocker right?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yanno, I could never figure out why Emily would allow negative comments through. I thought perhaps she was so generous in giving haters face time simply because it ramped up her revenue. Now it occurs to me she posted negative comments to goad her super fans into defending her. My feeling is that fewer and fewer super fans were submitting comments as more and more people realised just how unhinged she is. I am an idiot because I just thought of that today.

I will not be surprised in the least if her undersomenumberIpulledoutmearse blog comes back in some form or another. Perhaps she's going to take time off to rework her apartment and cooking to snap all new photographs? Perhaps she'll clean things up a bit and reinstate the blog in a new form? Maybe she'll go through all of her comments and tidy things up by deleting her bad and boastful attitudes?

I'm just saying - I think she'll be back. If it doesn't make a return, I see her sticking with her bellybutton nonsense, building up a new fan base, opening comments when some of the current madness has died down and then blogging for revenue as before.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I had no problem submitting a comment over at belly. It's just 'under moderation' from what I was seeing. Did she disable them? When I checked a minute ago, it does say '0' comments, but you can post something...right?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why doesn't everybody get together and email blogher once she gets back in action?? We have to stop this nonsense once and for all

    ReplyDelete
  30. Blogher doesn't care. As long as they get their revenue cut, they won't even reply to you. You're better off emailing the advertisers. Point them to the blog and ask them if they really want to advertise on a website of a woman who clearly endangers her children.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I left a comment yesterday - said it would show up when approved - never was. I wasn't rude or anything, actually complimented her on one thing. Do you think she thought we would not find her over there?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yeah I left a number of comments, nothing mean actually, and she ignored them all. It seems she is only letting the ones who put her on a pedistal through

    ReplyDelete
  33. I can't believe all the comments are real. They are just too fawning. I don't remember that many fawning sheep on her original blog. I think a lot are Emily talking herself up. Whatever. If that's what it takes for her to feel good about herself, I hope she knocks herself out.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm not visiting the new/old blog. I have made a list:

#1) Emily's belly button must be absolutely foul. Someone with my level of hygiene would never survive in Emily's world so to think of what her sticky, furry, putrid belly button would be like is more than I can bear. She might as well title the site, "Emily's Butt Hole" because her navel is just a few steps behind that dark recess in terms of shudder-factor.

    2) I don't want to give any potential advertisers or other financial supports any reason to think that Emily deserves some kind of funding. I can't be bothered to look but Emily could be gathering statistics in order to sell her blog. I won't be counted as a potential click for cash.

#3) Is it just me or does anyone else wonder if Emily is going to recreate herself? Her first time around she was the frugal, squeeze a nickle till it screams, negligent slob. Her husband was a little touched, everything in her life looked filthy...ugh...you saw it, I don't need to recap it. Cut to her new/old blog where she's got some common-sense, tolerant Christian vibe going. I wonder if she's smart enough to have come up with a new angle? Maybe she's going for crunchy-frugal-hippie-Christian this time?

Maybe I'm just giving her too much credit. If she were really just looking to make money online and not build a virtual army of ass kissers she wouldn't have closed down a blog that was making money, even if not as much money as she'd like us to believe.

Okay, as of now I'm not going to speculate and wonder about Emily's motives. I just realised it's not all that interesting. Like, really not all that interesting.
