Hammocks

Today is boring again. The Feaky Fundy is running out of material. Today she tells us how to staple fabric to the wall to creat hammock's for stuffed animal and cheese making skirts.

Any guesses what color the fabric is?

She isn't allowed to paint, but she can taple and nail stuff up and put in bicycle hooks all over the place.

Boring.

  1. Oh, it looks so awful. Just hideous. The black fabric on the white wall. Shudder! Shudder!

Does she seriously think that she's crafty?

  2. The sad thing is, her little cult will think that it is the greatest thing ever!

  3. Anon8:35- Yes,The sad thing is she really does think that she's crafty! What she doesn't get is her "storage solutions" are crap!

She really is running out of material, huh? Well, tomorrows post *might* be interesting since she is supposed to be addressing the mattress Giz sent her.

  4. Done properly, as in the first example with clean stuffed animals (obviously that is not from her home), it can be cute. I've seen people do that to display stuffed animals up high in a child's or baby's room. The way she does it, it just looks messy and dumb, like she just nailed a ramdom sheet to the wall and threw sit in it. I guess that's because she did.

  5. Wouldn't it be a better usage of that fabric (which is probably more expensive than the net hammocks I've seen) to actually make something out of it? Like costumes for the boys, or pillows...or sheets. If she was going to use the bunkbed idea she could make curtains for each bed so the boys would have their own little private space.

  6. Why can't she pick an actual nice color for her boys, besides this ugly black. It's so bleak. And she is wasting money, ironically, because I know you can find net hammocks for much cheaper. Someone even pointed that out to her on her comments section.

  7. Jesus, that's depressing. She can even manage to cock up a good idea into something awful and half-assed and just flat out ugly. It's a recurring theme with her, like how making pizza from scratch is usually awesome. But her version? terrifying.

  8. I wonder what those hammocks look like through her eyes? I look at the pic from amazon and think, aww how cute (although a huge dust catcher). Then I look at her picture, and think, why is that ugly bit of fabric stapled to the wall? Does she truly not see the same difference that I see?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Anon 10:12, no she truly doesn't. I've known other people like this. She honestly thinks it's just as cute/good.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Fudge, that was boring (yawn)

I wonder how she knew not to put books in them? I wonder when she will start using hammocks as beds. All she has to do is properly affix them to the walls.

  11. She is such a slob. I so wish someone lived close to her so they could point out how really awful her apartment is.

  12. Can someone clarify how the comments work for her site? Is she previewing every single one, and then basically clicking "yes" or "no" to allow it to be posted? Because I can't figure out why she lets certain negative comments through that make her look like an ass, and others she won't???

  13. That looks like something my four year old would staple to the wall and call a craft. It's disgusting looking and not crafty at all or a storage solution. It holds three stuffed animals! What a waste of space. What landlord wants nail holes everywhere and why is she obsessed with black fabric. Fabric hanging everywhere.

  14. Watch out, Emily is feeling snippy today! Oh, the scathing comment to Lori! Yee-ow!

"As far as my space being discussed as "messy", honestly, the fact that you spend your time perusing sights that "discuss" me says more about your character than loose fabric says about mine."

.....until someone else pointed out that people call the apartment messy and cluttered right on Emily's own website.

Will she issue an apology? Don't hold your breath!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I find myself just utterly appalled by how rude she is to people who comment on her site. Nobody wants to hang out with the mean girl, and as much as she wants to think that we're the mean ones, she's no saint herself.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh good Lord, that's a steaming pile of hideous. Why in God's name is she blogging about this? She's so innovative! *eye-roll*

    ReplyDelete
  17. Does this apartment seriously not have a single closet or rod to, I don't know, HANG UP her skirts. I realized she just runs cheese through them, but still. Who throws clothes into a hammock like that? Stuffed animals I get, clothes not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Now she says she only put up those hammocks for demonstrations purposes and has already put them down. I feel rather sorry for her landlord. When she moves out, he's going to have to spend a whole day spackling all the tiny holes everywhere in the walls. Then he'll slap on a coat of paint and notice 50 more pin sized holes that he's missed. Who puts multiple staple holes in their walls just for demonstation purposes? Why not put up pics of the hammocks she already has in the apartment? Is she insane?

  19. It looks like she removed the link to dan's blog?

Of course that apartment has a closet. Where do you think the boys sleep? ;)

  21. A woman I know almost 30 years raise her son to wear mainly black and deep, dark red colors. She (not surprisingly) favored those colors for her own dress code. Her son is now 21. He had violent outbursts by 14 and in therapy (always amazed me how clueless she was, she also berated her two kids and called it 'joking') spoke of the depressing colors of his wardrobe. She'd dressed him in what 'she' thought was cute (as I guess most of us moms do); I know there was a lot of anger in that house from the parents. I think the poor kid was afraid to speak up. Anyway...rambled on. The drab 'chic' Emily seems to admire is unfair to force her children to live with. She has given no thought to what colors would contrast well with the walls (if we could see them; we can't with all the shelves).

I know a missionary (they're over in Afghanistan) couple who hammocked the clothing. It was adorable and floral print for mom; tan khaki for hubs; whimsy-childhood fabric for the girls. It was very discreet. Her little apartment exuded warmth and charm.

This blogging is purely a business for Emily and Dan. No doubt discussed before the venture. It has the 'accident on the side of the road over the divider on the other side' kind of draw. I don't think she planned that angle but: it's working for her.

  22. Reading her blog is like watching an episode of Hoarders. It makes me want to clean the shit out of my house and be thankful I'm not some whacko who takes no pride whatsoever in my surroundings.

Seriously. How fucking Charlie Brown Christmas tree is her apartment?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love the opening paragraph Anon 12:46! This has been true for me as well! No jk. I am always inspired to declutter after reading the feed! LOL. She's had that adverse effect on me (rather than inspire, she repulses and motivates the betterment of my cleaning and organizational skills)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just like some of the other posters, Emily has inspired me to get rid of all of the crap in my house. I am having a big garage sale in a few weeks and then the rest goes to charity. So I have to give her kudos for that :)
Anyone know of the best place to sale books and music on-line (not ebay)?

    ReplyDelete
  25. a Charlie Brown Christmas tree is at least kind of cute. Her little apartment o'horrors is just dreadful.

Free Dna, Brad, Therese, and the little boys!

  26. amazon.com and half.com you can sell books. honestly, you're better off finding a place that sells used books in your area and doing it that way. with the shipping costs and then pain in the ass of dealing with the selling of books online, it's easier to do it in one big swoop and probably nets you more money.

a local store here gives you 50% of the list price of the book

    ReplyDelete
  27. I agree. I think the blog is just a way to earn money. Does Dna really work at Walmart? I wouldn't be surprised if none of what she posted is real. That maybe she is even copying the ideas and even recipes from somewhere else. I keep waiting for someone to make their own train wreck of a blog for the $.

    ReplyDelete
  28. How hard would that be?

Look at the cupboard where my baby sleeps! This one likes to sleep in this drawer. Oh did I mention we eat garbage?

I might just go buy that domain name right now

  29. Have been following emily's blog for a little bit for the sheer entertainment of it all....

This blog is waaaaaaaaay better. I haven't stopped laughing.

I do try to cut her some slack. She is young, ill educated, impressionable to the point of concern, has three boys with very little money, and some pretty warped theology. However some of her decisions are freaking weird. No dental care, no life insurance, safety concerns in the house. What is really scary is that when people try to gently and diplomatically point out these concerns she goes psycho. I seriously wonder if she has a mental illness.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Someone asked Dna on his blog why Emily removed the link to his blog from hers. His response was:

    ghostdp said...
the only reason she removed me form the blog role is that she types the papers so she knows that i wrote the, it is not a big deal.

Which, someone else pointed out, makes absolutely no sense...

You can find his blog at: http://rantofdan.blogspot.com/

She can delete it from her blog "role," but she can't delete the link I already had saved in my favorites...

  31. For a blog that frequently slams "Dna's" writing, you sure are sloppy. 4 errors in 6 sentences? It's honestly a little confusing. I keep wondering if you're making fun or just not reading your stuff before you post it. Everyone enjoys a little smart satire, but keep it smart.

And why the preponderance of Anonymous commenters? Very interesting.

  32. That "hammock" was horrible! What a waste of fabric but then again the fabric was disgusting! I sew a lot and can't stand to see fabric used that way. She is an absolute gritch to anybody who doesn't agree with her.I think all that girl (can't call her a woman) does all day is sit her butt on the computer and look for people who trash talk her. Those poor babies seem to be neglected because all their egg donor does all day is gritch and complain about others. Dan will never be able to find a church to pastor with her as a wife.

  33. Emily says she took him off because she reorganized it and his didn't fit - or something like that. But, I've wondered why are people going nuts about it? It doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I also don't understand why people keep saying something along the lines of "She took his link down and now I can't find it!" If you've been there once it should be pretty easy to get to again, how difficult is it to remember rantofdan? Also, if you're visiting her blog just to get to his that's adding to her blog revenue for nothing.

On another note, I do think it's funny that Emily says she doesn't blog for money, that the only reason she monetized it was to see if money could be made blogging - okay, an experiment, whatever. But, she's shown that she can, so why not take them down now if she's not doing it for money? Also, she said she thought Dan should monetize his but he doesn't want to. Why monetize it if you're not blogging for money? She's all about the money and she knows it. I hope her blog revenue makes it so that they can no longer contribute 0 in taxes throughout the year and still receive $6000-7000 back.

Last thing - the comment feed link above doesn't seem to work anymore. It did this morning but now it says that feed isn't configured or something. I wonder if she took comments off of feed so that we'd have to click over there to at least see that? Or, possibly the link is just not working at the moment.

  34. I wonder if she is a closet scientologist? I worked for a guy who was one big time and he stapled everything to fix it. we moved into his old apartment and he had even fixed the curtains with staples.

  35. $20 says tomorrow's post will say, "We aren't using mattresses anymore. I refuse to explain anything more, so you can suck it. In Jesus' name, of course."

  36. bewordy, there's a big difference between us typing up some silly post between work and family and "new or lions" and the like from Dna's blog. Even Dna says he knows he has some issues with writing, etc.

Further, Under1000 allows anonymous comments because we're not spoiled babies who can't take some criticism and some snarking. Big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Didn't she just have like two weeks worth of comments about how her house is a fracking sty? "Messy" seems fairly tame compared to "deathtrap" to me. Why is she getting all up in this poor poster's face for trying to help her?

    Oh, wait...I forgot...she's FunderWoman.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh my god what is it with you people and anonymous comments? What difference does it make? You do realise that the internet is all over the friggin' world, right? You're aware of the fact that you can choose any name you would like before you post? There isn't anything "interesting" about it at all. It's just as easy to populate a blog with sock puppets using names you pull off the top of your head, if that's your concern. Otherwise, I cannot fathom why it would make a lick of difference. Seriously, of all the stuff to get yourself in a bunch over?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Now she has a new rule, if you post on the other sites (here and FJ) she will not answer or post your comments. Because we are evil. I am glad that I am in the evil bunch and not the wackadoodle bunch. Emily's crazy brain is working overtime today. Also she is an evil little bitch.

  40. $20 says tomorrow's post will say, "We aren't using mattresses anymore. I refuse to explain anything more, so you can suck it. In Jesus' name, of course."

Actually, because of her comments, she will say that "she can't use the mattress because she can't trust anyone that would participate in a site that was built only to speak ill of her"...

  41. Anon 9:00 PM...WTF??? YOU posted Anon you moron! My guess is people post anon here becauee they don't have a blog or just don't think type their name. I have posted anon here quite a bit, but I am not hiding from anyone. My name is Pam, btw. No one really cares if Emily sees they are posting here.

  43. "FunderWoman" LMFAO!!!

  44. I wonder when she'll realize that simply stapling the kids to the wall at night for sleepy time makes much more sense than having mattresses of any sort! I have to admit though, she is quite brilliant with her self cleaning home. The kids don't have sheets because she uses them to house the toys and clothes- which won't leave the sheets soaked in urine, therefore one less thing to have to clean! Amazing! It's all a part of her plan!

  45. There's nothing wrong with anonymous comments. What the hell use is my name to you? Personally, I haven't used my blogger account in years, and can't even remember the the password or username. I also often leave comments in between doing a million other things, so making sure some moron isn't offended by my anonymous comment isn't on the top of my list. I'd suggest that if anonymous comments are so offending, you should probably untwist your panties and find a hobby.

I also find it funny that bewordy is bashing someone's grammar and writing skills. It appears to be one those "don't throw stones in a glass house" kind of thing, you know?

    Love,
    Anonymous
